Hi, were back with another Legendary Legs flight this week, and this time we're making the trek out to Madeira from Lisbon! This one will be a lot of water..... this suggestion came in from icemanAMD 

✈️ LPMA: Destination Overview
LPMA sits on the southern coast of Madeira Island, essentially carved into a cliff face with the ocean right there at the end of the runway. The approach is famously tricky, with terrain and crosswinds doing their best to ruin your day, and the runway itself is built partly on concrete stilts extending over the sea. It's one of those airports where a stabilised approach really matters.

⭐ Interesting fact: The runway at LPMA had to be extended in the 1990s by building out over the water on a platform supported by 180 columns, which is the only way they could get it to an acceptable length given the geography.
